With the free Agenda Hero Chrome extension, you can highlight event details on any website or in any email and turn them into a calendar invite in seconds. Add the events to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or Agenda Hero, in one place or several, and invite anyone else who needs to be there.
Why turn highlighted text into a calendar event?
You register for a luncheon, you sign up for a gingerbread house class, you get an email confirming a doctor's appointment or you spot an event on a website you want to go to.
You see it and then there's the extra step. You hunt for an "Add to Calendar" button, if there even is one, or you open your calendar, start a new event, and copy over the date, time, location, and details by hand.
If someone else needs to know or be invited, there's a step after that. You forward the email and hope they add it or you text, "Want to join me or can you put this on your calendar?" There’s so much duplicative manual labor.
The Agenda Hero Chrome extension removes all of it.
- No hunting for a button: Highlight the details and the event is created for you.
- No copying and pasting: Agenda Hero fills in the title, date, start and end time, location, and description, and it even brings over links.
- Keep everyone in the loop: Add your partner, your parent, your caregiver, or a friend by email, and they get the invite too.
- Send to every calendar you use: Add the event to Google, Apple, Outlook, or Agenda Hero, or to more than one.
- It goes where you go: Because it's a Chrome extension, it works as you move around the web: your email, a school portal, an event page or a registration confirmation.
It's one small step taken out of your day, every day, and it's completely free.
How do I create a calendar event from highlighted text in Chrome?
It takes four steps.
- Install Agenda Hero for Chrome from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it to your Chrome toolbar.
- Highlight the event details on any page, like a confirmation email or an event listing.
- Click the Add to Calendar button that appears. Or right-click your selection and convert it from the menu.
- Review the event, add the email address of anyone you want to invite, and add it to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or Agenda Hero.
Working from a flyer or image instead of text? Click the Agenda Hero icon in your toolbar to open the side panel and upload the image or take a screenshot.
Can I invite someone else to the event?
Yes, and it's one of the best parts. Right from the extension, type in the email address of anyone who needs to know: your partner for the doctor's appointment, your nanny for the school event, your friend for the luncheon, or your parent for your kid's activity. They'll get the invite too.
If the event changes later, the people you invited get the update.
Which calendars does it work with?
Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and Agenda Hero. You can add the same event to more than one in the same session.
Events added to Apple Calendar or Outlook are a one-time copy, so they won't update if the details change. Calendars each have their own rules about this. Here’s a blog post we wrote that explains why.
Where does the extension work?
On any website you open in Chrome, including your email when you read it in the Chrome browser. Use it for registration confirmations, school portals, community event pages, club emails, appointment reminders, team schedules and more.
Can I turn off the Add to Calendar button?
Yes. If you'd rather not see the button every time you highlight text, right-click the Agenda Hero icon in your Chrome toolbar and choose "Disable in-page Add to Calendar button." You can still create events by right-clicking a selection.
Is the Agenda Hero Chrome extension free?
Yes, it's completely free. You'll need a free Agenda Hero account to use it.
