Events
Open an event to edit it. What the event editor holds, and which of its fields belong to the event and which to the planner.
Click an event on a view to open it. People who can edit the planner get fields they can change and a Save button. Viewers get the same event read-only and a Close button.
What the editor holds
| Part | Sets |
|---|---|
| Emoji | The emoji shown on the event |
| Title | The event's name |
| Date and time | Start, end, all day, and the repeat pattern |
| Location | Where the event is |
| Description | The event's own details |
| Notes | This planner's note on an event pulled in from a source |
| The row along the bottom | Category, who, labels, shading, and Visible or Hidden |
The ... menu holds Duplicate item and Delete item.
Two kinds of field
- The event's own fields: emoji, title, date and time, location, and description. They belong to the event, so a planner pulling this one in as a source shows the same values.
- Planner settings: category, who, labels, visibility, and notes. They are stored against this planner only.
Shading falls into both. On an event this planner owns it is part of the event. On an event pulled in from a source it is a planner setting.
The pages for each:
Events pulled in from a source
An event that arrived from a source is maintained where it already lives, so its own fields are locked here. The editor shows This item is from with the source's name, and a View Event button that opens the event at its origin. There is no Duplicate or Delete for it either: removing it means removing the source.
The planner settings above stay editable, and Notes is where your own text for that event goes.
