Text message reminders

Schedule a text about an event to go to your family before or after it starts, and see what is queued and sent.

Text reminders send a message about an event to people in your family workspace. They are part of the Family plan, and they exist on planners only.

What has to be true first

The planner is in a family workspace. A planner in a personal workspace cannot send them, so move the planner to the family workspace.
The workspace owner has added phone numbers to the member roster. Recipients come from that roster, and only the owner can edit it.

Open an event and choose Texts.

When should the message go out? Pick minutes or hours before or after the start, or day of, day before, or day after. The minimum is 15 minutes.
Who should receive the message? Everyone on the roster, or the specific members you pick.
What should the message say? Up to 400 characters. Write with AI suggests one, and needs the event to have a title.

Messages cannot be added to an event that has already passed. Up to 30 messages can be scheduled per event, or per date for a repeating event.

Save changes to an event's date or repeat pattern before editing its text messages.

Text messages in the customize panel lists them for the whole planner, under All, Scheduled, and Sent.

Messages already scheduled stay in place and send again once the plan is active. No new ones can be scheduled while it is not.

Text reminders are a Family plan capability. Business workspaces do not have them.
