Notes on an event

A note this planner keeps on an event pulled in from a source. Anyone who can open the planner can read it.

A note is text this planner keeps against an event that arrived from a source. The event is maintained on the calendar it came from, so its title, times, and description cannot be edited here. The note is where your own text for that event goes.

Adding one

  1. Click the event to open it.
  2. Type in Notes, below the event's description.
  3. Choose Save.

Clearing the text and saving removes the note.

A note is not private

Heads up

A note is part of the planner, not a personal annotation. Everyone who can open the event can read it.

That is:

  • Collaborators, both editors and viewers.
  • Anyone with the link, if the planner is published.

Editors can change or remove a note. Viewers can only read it, and see nothing where there is no note.

A note is shown when the event is opened. It is not drawn on the event cards or on printable views.

A note belongs to one planner

Like category, who, and labels, a note is stored against the planner you added it on.

  • The calendar the event came from does not receive it.
  • Another planner pulling in the same source does not show it.
  • Refreshing the source keeps it. A change made to the event upstream, including to its title or times, leaves the note in place.

Events the planner owns have no Notes field

An event created on this planner is editable, so there is nothing to annotate: its Description is the place for the text. A description belongs to the event, so planners pulling this one in as a source show it too.
