Category, who, and labels
The row along the bottom of the event editor: category, who, labels, shading, and whether an occurrence is shown.
The row along the bottom of the event editor sets how one event is treated on this planner. It is offered on planners and on the views inside them.

Each picker offers what the planner already has, and you can add a new one or rename an existing one from inside the event. The full set is managed in schedule settings, and the planner's Filter control uses all three.
Category, who, and labels are saved with the rest of the form, so they take effect when you choose Save.
Visible and Hidden
Hiding applies to the occurrence you opened, not to the whole series. Open another occurrence of a repeating event to hide that one as well.
These belong to the planner
Category, who, labels, and visibility are stored against the planner you set them on. An event pulled in from a source carries none of them back to the calendar it came from, and another planner pulling in the same source has its own.
Shading is the one exception. Set on an event this planner owns it is part of the event, so it carries to planners that pull this one in as a source. Set on an event pulled in from a source it applies here only.
Where they show
Whether a card shows its category color or its labels is a setting on each view, under Show on this view. See views and layouts.
